NOMAD
An offline-first information fabric for dependable local intelligence, with connectivity treated as an enhancement rather than a requirement.
Overview
NOMAD is an offline-first knowledge workspace. Its working local dashboard connects stored reference material to a question interface, evidence panel and local source reader.
The verified question flow retrieves from the June 2026 English Wikipedia no-pictures archive and a 177-record Natural Earth country lookup. A library inventory shows which archives and databases are connected for questions and which are stored only.
The current mode extracts relevant source passages rather than generating a model response. Questioning, citations, source reading, filtering and unsupported-query handling are tested. Autonomous reasoning and synchronization remain research goals.

Questions, grounded in your local library.
EMO-NOMAD now has a working local dashboard: ask a question, retrieve relevant evidence from an offline source, and follow the citation into a local reader. The screenshots below are from the actual running dashboard.

Wikipedia evidence: Wikipedia contributors, Canada, CC BY-SA 4.0. Map data: Natural Earth, public domain, version 5.1.1. Screenshots compressed for this page.
The question flow connects the June 2026 English Wikipedia no-pictures archive and a 177-record country lookup. Answers are extracted source passages or formatted country records, with visible citations. It does not use generated synthesis or load a model.
The library view measures the actual stored files and shows edition, size, license, and question coverage. Other Wikipedia editions and metadata databases are clearly marked as stored or inventory-only. Session history, a local article reader, source filtering, runtime status, and an offline world map are working.
Verified questions included Canada’s capital, photosynthesis, and Canada’s continent. An unsupported question returned no local evidence. The retrieval test also passed with outbound socket connections denied. Wi-Fi was not globally disabled. The dashboard binds only to this Mac’s loopback interface; this public page displays screenshots and does not expose the local API.
This is a retrieval prototype. Broad conversational reasoning, autonomous actions, synchronization, and questioning of every stored database remain outside its verified capability.
